Webster London Soccer Team in International Football Tournament in Leiden, Holland

Sunday 17th, Leiden

Global Football

On Saturday 16th February ten Webster students and supporters will take off for the picturesque city of Leiden in Holland, to take part in a rigorous international football tournament playing against European Webster Colleges from Leiden, Geneva and Vienna.

The tournament itself will take place on Sunday 17th where two teams from each Webster college will thrash it out to the finals to win the championship.

Webster London, with a dedicated team from all over world, are the defending champions of last tournament, and are in an excellent position to give the other teams a run for their money.

But it won’t be all hard work; the guys also intend to have fun in this beautiful university city with the help of other students from the Webster international network. This promises to be a unique and exciting event in a perfect setting and with a challenge ahead of them; our lads are determined to put up a fight to the bitter end.

Thanks to everyone who helped in the cookie sale on Wednesday 6th February and in the raffle which raised funds for this trip. The event proved extremely successful.

" Looking back at my year in London, I must say I made a wise selection. Webster is not just a university; determined students can gain from their study period in various ways. Every hour in class is a possibility to learn not only from the professor but also from your fellow classmates, who come from every corner of the world bringing their own mindsets and diverse experience with them. Assignments are designed to approximate real life challenges, the relationship student – staff is on a very personal basis, an open door policy is self-evident and social contacts amongst students are promoted through regular events organised by staff and student’s government."
