I was very eager to attend Webster University
in London. Prior to my enrolment, I had researched several
institutions, but hadn’t received the amount of detailed
information nor prospective support as I did from the current staff
and alumni at Webster.
Whilst attending Webster, I viewed an open
opportunity to join Webster’s Student Council. Although there were
no positions to be chaired at the time of my interest, I
consistently attended weekly meetings and was extremely proactive
with the group’s desire to raise funds for two organizations:
Webster’s Football team and the Regent’s College’s Model United
Nations group. Whilst awaiting an opening within the group, I
project managed several events and fundraisers targeted for the MUN
and Webster Football team. I quickly and successfully was nominated
and voted into the role of Secretary and by my second term, I was
voted into the prize role of President. I maintained my role as
President until my completion of my final term.
Whilst performing my Presidential role, I
maintained several committee positions within the campus. I became
an active member of Regent’s College Student Services
Centralisation Working Group, (SSCWG), HASS Faculty Quality
Assurance and Enhancement Committee, (FQAEC), and the Regent’s
College Senate. I also created and analysed an International Higher
Education survey providing the data a Regent’s College Senate
Committee.
Along with my committee positions, in
collaboration with the newly inducted Regent’s College Student
Union Chairman, I successfully developed and designed the structure
and foundation of the unified Regent’s College Student Union. My
key successes within the Student Union have been the development of
the Student Union Constitution, Organization Structure, Programs
with assigned Directors, Student Union and Student Services’ Campus
wide activities calendar, and the presentation of the new Student
Union throughout the campus.
I was extremely proactive when it came to my
participation of Webster’s Undergraduate and Postgraduate
inductions; collaborating and planning the social events for each
term as well as seasonally. I coupled this role with my part-time
work as the Alumni Liaison for the Webster University London
Chapter. My key strategy was to combine the two targeting each
group and introducing the network whilst preserving alumni
relations and documenting active alumni participation.
Throughout my duration at Webster, I feel I
made an impact with my ever guiding hand, my dedication to my
volunteering and support to my fellow students, and continually
maintaining and graduating with distinction
