Tija Slaktere

Nationality: Latvian
Degree: M.A Marketing

Tija Slaktere After taking the decision to study MA Marketing in London I was surprised that few educational establishments could provide this course at such level. After short listing three colleges, Webster topped my choice due to its American driven culture.

Additionally, professors are highly skilled, not only academically but also in real working environment. This edged my decision as in the subject of marketing everything changes too quickly and yesterdays techniques might not be enough.

Professors combined academic knowledge with practical examples that gave me insights at how businesses can be monitored from different sides and made classes interesting to follow and eager to learn.

Webster’s another advantage is its location - being in heart of London really matters. Its central location allowed me to find a part time job as it took only few stops on the underground to travel back and forth without missing classes.

"Having received my undergrad from a University of 25,000 students, I was looking for a smaller, more intimate, campus to complete my MBA. Not only was Webster University-London a perfect fit size-wise, as it provides a family/community feeling, but the campus also offers a professional program, which was important to me with the MBA program.  Webster’s faculty members are out in the real world practicing what they teach; they are not solely academics with their heads stuck in their research with little to no idea of the challenges managers and employees are facing in everyday life."
